The Sonny S Boatline provides water transportation from Put-in-Bay to Middle Bass Island. This passenger only vessel is a great link between the sister islands of South Bass and Middle Bass Islands. The Put-in-Bay dock of the sonny-S is located adjacent to the Boardwalk Restaurant, alongside the Village of Put-in-Bay A Dock. This prime departure location is great for families visting Put-in-Bay via the Jet-Express to explore Middle Bass during their visit. The Sonny S drops off passengers in front of Lonz Winery and the new Middle Bass Island State Park and Marina.
Currently, construction is underway with the large marina, camp sites and other developments to the grounds. Upon completion, Middle Bass Island State Park will be a wonderful opportunity for boaters to explore the Island. Also, boaters will be able to easily access Put-in-Bay and other Lake Erie Islands. The Sonny-S has been providing safe and reliable roundtrip ferry service between Put-in-Bay and Middle Bass Island for many years. Their primary vessel, Goodtime I, can accomodate 355 passengers and is approved by the U.S. Coast Guard. An island hopping tour offered includes spectacular views of Cedar Point, Johnson's Island and the Marblehead Lighthouse enroute to Put-in-Bay and Kelley's Island. This cruise begins boarding at 9 a.m and concludes around 6:30, with 3 and a half hours spent sightseeing on Put-in-Bay. This island hopping cruise has a relaxed pace and great for families to explore the Lake Erie Islands. For a more adult-oriented cruise Goodtime offers their Friday night voyage. These trips range from Labor Day and Memorial Day, and offer service from Sandusky to Kelley's Island.
